Honest question.... "free parking spot" ??? (assuming you are so wealthy, you probably live in a nice house with.... a driveway? I just don't understand the parking spot "offering". Is this going to lure good nannies? is this a Chicago thing?????)
Let me explain Chicago and you will understand a little better. Most affluent Chicagoans live in the loop area ( west, south, central), river north, streeterville, and some in Lakeview and Lincoln Park. Most of these areas consist of high-rise condos and townhomes. The loop area and heading downtown, street parking is expensive and a nightmare. You are better off walking or taking a cab. You have to pay up to $30,000/year for one parking spot. Lincoln park and Lakeview is more family oriented but there is a large pool or young people ( 20's - 30's) that come for all the bars. We haw garages but usually only one designated parking spot. You have to pay for a parking spot ( if you can find one) or park in a parking garage for the day. We live in a townhouse in the West Loop. We have one parking space but will have to pay $26,000/year for a nannys parking spot on the street. My husband and I do make a great living but we are still cost concentious.
