Be warned there are nanny facebook groups ( not naming names ) where pictures of your children are posted and your home and your mothering skills are discussed. These groups are closed so you may have no idea. These groups have no professional ethics or boundries when it comes to your privacy.
\ Oh lordy, here we go again with the I hate Nanny Care Tribe slew of posters.
Go away ! Stop trying to cause drama no one cares about your precious group. I do think parents should be aware there are many Facebook groups were posting of pictures and other personal information happens. I think it's a fair interview question for parents to know what groups their nanny belongs to and to make it part of the agreement that the nanny doesn't post photos or share personal info about the family, or back on topic not use electronics for personal activities while the children are awake. It's about professionalism.
Why is it so hard for some of you idiots to understand that some nannies have PERMISSION to post pictures of our charges. You act as if every nanny who posts pictures is doing so without their employer's permission or knowledge. When I was interviewing about 18 months ago this is something that I covered in every single interview. There were some families that were fine with it, others who were not and still others who had not give it much thought. This is something I include in my contract and have no problem following my employer's wishes. For example my last family did not want anything posted about the children online. While I worked for them I was not part of any type of nanny group and never once posted a picture or description of the children or family. On the other hand my current family has no problem with me posting and sharing pictures and other things about the children. I use my common sense and do not post pictures of their faces or share too many details about their life. My motto is that my Nanny Family and Charges deserve the same amount of respect and privacy that I want for myself.
