The difference is 800$ only, so she is saving 1500-800=700 plus whatever she would have paid for transport and utilities.  I took an extreme example on purpose to demonstrate that she is better off even with below the rock bottom rates with a live-in arrangement. At 12$/hr the savings for live-in vs live out are more than a grand.

For a live in the only remaining fixed costs are a cell phone, health insurance and food.  The rest is her discretionary income.

Sure, live-in is not for everyone.  Just like nannying is not for everyone. But to say that there is no financial benefit is a blatant lie for anyone who can put 2 and 2 together.  [/quote]
