You couldn't stay overnight?
I stayed overnight, because I work until 6 and start at 7 in the morning, so it didn't make sense for me to drive home (and I have no kids on my own)
I have a separate room at their house anyway, because once a week I work overnight.
My MB was so sweet - she stopped at the store on the way home and bought me food I could eat (I'm doing a cleanse for a few months), she cooked for me and she got me fuzzy slippers. She said my feet must be cold from shoveling snow while she was at work.

Clearly your situation is vastly different than most nannies...as you stated yourself you have a designated room. Most nannies have lives outside of their jobs and [b]NEED to go home at the end of the day (to run their own errands, walk their dogs[/b], do homework, clean their homes...etc). Staying overnight, for most nannies, is just absurd and a bit insulting. I doubt many MB/DB's are camping out in their offices to ensure that they are there on time the next day.[/quote]

I understand that. No need to be rude. I just asked a question.
I have a life outside of my job too. 
As I stated above, I have no kids on my own and I took my Mackbook and a few books with me so I could do my homework here.
I think I stayed overnight once or twice when I worked for my previous family as well. I was a live out position, but I worked 10 hours every day and the commute was one hour one way (probably double in the snow)[/quote]
