OP here. The parents that I work for are NYC business executives who make well over $100k/year. I spoke to my MB and she said that the reason they are cutting my OT is because they are looking to buy a summer home in the Hamptons for next year. I'm very frustrated because I have 2 roommates for my NYC apartment, which helps with rent and grad school bills are starting to come in for next semester. Its not my business about how they spend their money, but the smallest paycut hurts.
In that case OP, you should show them the IRS handout designating nannies as hourly household employees covered by the FLSA, thus entitling them to OT pay. Its not something optional they can just cut out. They can either a) reorganize their schedules so as not to need OT, b) hiring someone else to cover your OT, or c)reduce your hourly rate that comes to a weekly amount they are okay with. None of these options sound great for you, so I'd tell start looking for a new job. Ask them if they can make the change effective in 30 days, and use tht time to secure a new job.
