Yesterday after signing onto my Facebook account I notice several updates in two nanny groups I belong to. A nanny posted a picture of her young charge having a tantrum because she thought it was funny. Obviously, many nannies thought this was a cruel thing to do. Apparently, this nanny asked permission to post this picture on Facebook from the parents. Although in my opinion, she probably asked for permission to post pictures of her charge, not for permission to post a picture while the child was in distress. My questions are; Would you allow this picture to be online of your child? Would you allow your nanny to post any picture of your chiild in an online Facebook group, supposedly private? Keep in mind that even though a group is private, it can have hundreds of members who can take that picture and do what they please with. Nannys feel free to weigh in as well, just save the drama for facebook. Sorry for any typos, I'm on my cell.
Is this really a thread? Does it matter if some people would allow their nanny to post stuff like this to a FB group or that some wouldn't? Everyone will have their own opinions on whether they would or not, what would be too much and it really doesn't matter in the end. There is always going to be a wide range of answers for questions like these. Unless you are doing a poll for a class that had something to do with this, it is pointless to ask about it. It would be the same as asking at what age would you feel comfortable letting your child go to a store by themselves (and then that would have many variables that would influence the decision etc). Unless your nanny is asking you to let her post this stuff, and even then you can come up with your own decision, leave it alone.
