What gets me is how many of the discussions on this board could have easily been avoided if a contract that was understandable and agreed to by both parties had existed from the beginning. And NannyDeb is right, quaranteed hours are standard, at least for full time nannies. OP, apply a little common sense here. Think about the example another PP gave-you wouldn't have any problem if YOUR employer told you you would not be paid while THEY went on vacation even if you were available and willing to work?
