This discussion is really dumb. Unless you are a nanny for a high profile family or a celebrity family and you run the risk of being photographed or need to have a good image for the family, there is NO reason you need to get dressed up in jeans and button ups, etc. every day. About 3 out of the 5 days a week that I work, I wear yoga pants. Sorry, but I nanny for twin 1 1/2 year olds and it's just easier for me to run around with them in yoga pants and sneakers. The other two days we have music class and PT appointments so I will wear jeans and uggs and a shirt. There is no need to have to get all dressed up for a NANNY job.
I am a nanny and dress casually for work. I wear blue jeans most every day. Since when did jeans become formal wear?
Nobody said they did. But the posters who are saying they wear jeans and button downs or blouses every day are just coming off as ridiculous. This is a nanny job...there is no need to wear a button down or a blouse to work. You are watching kids, not greeting customers.
