OP you should watch the want ads for jobs with twins after the holidays. I had a nanny friend in the same sitch. Parents asked for the shots. Nanny said no. Parents said they understood. Three weeks later she was let go. Parents wanted childcare lined up before letting her go.
OP here: Thanks for the input. We have in my contract that I must give them 3 weeks notice and same for them. If they let me go, they have to give me 3 weeks notice and they also put in 2 weeks severance pay. I doubt they will let me go but if so, I'll be covered while I search for a new job.
Hate to tell you this, but just because it is in your contract, that doesn't mean that they really have to do it. I had 6 weeks notice in mine as I was a live-in (who gave up my apartment for that position). I wanted to make sure that if I left, I had enough time to find a good apartment as well as new job. They decided to let me go after 6 months as they wanted someone that would work 60 hours a week (instead of the 40 I was doing), and gave me 3 weeks. No severance, even though that was included in the contract as well.
Sorry that you had that problem but I'm not worried about it.
