If you work for a family and they cut hours because kids are in school full time (like no more full time pay) and they ask you to help with mornings/pick ups - are you charging a premium? If you get 25 dollars an hour for two kids in preschool who are now in K - it makes sense to charge more per hour for the reduced hours right? I am thinking 45 is right for 3-5 hours a day is fair.
Why not look for a family who needs afternoon care and make it into a share/split?
I'm not the OP but that's my post you quoted. Sure, I guess OP could suggest that to the family. But OP mentions "pick ups" after school so the other family would either have to be at the same school, or a school with a compatible schedule, which could limit options. Also since the family OP currently works for has 2 kids, she would need access to a car that can fit at least 3 booster seats/car seats. It's not so simple.
OP's post isn't clear because her subject line only references before school help. If they only need morning help, lots of families look for afternoon help. Should be easy to find if she wants to stay with the family. Otherwise, might as well move on to a new family.
