I will never understand the discounted “over night rate”. If the nanny can’t leave and is responsible for the child, she’s working. Why not pay her usual hourly rate?
because we are sleeping. I’m not going to charge $20 an hour when I’m asleep. The flat rate covers the inconvenience of not being in my own bed. OP I would charge hourly until 11pm and again at 7am. $75 flat rate for the overnight part.
1. I charge the same for family (ones who ask repeatedly, not the one-offs I offer), friends and others. 2. I want to know what the situation is when I walk in, so I can plan accordingly. If they tell me ahead of time that their children sleep through the night, they pay the overnight rate. If they tell me ahead of time that I will be waking up, I charge my hourly rate. If they tell me kids sleep through, then I’m up for something other than a child vomiting everywhere, I charge both. I’m crystal clear on my policy, and nobody quibbles.
