We had one AP who really was a hermit...sweet with the kids and a super nice girl but no interest in making friends or anything, just putting in her time.  We did ask that she go to the first 3 AP cluster meetings but she was miserable so we didn't push it after that.  She was definitely not "part of the family" but would still join us for birthdays and holidays.
