There is a small subset of people who previously used daycare or preschool for childcare, who can afford a nanny at, for example, $20/hr. When nannies turn around and say “supply and demand - I now want $30/hr.,” those same people think “nah, I’ll just continue working from home and making due without childcare.” The overall market for nannies who can command higher than average rates remains very small.[/quote]
