One thing you want to make clear in the negotiations/offer/contract: Who decides what those two weeks of vacation are? And what kind of notice needs to be given?
To add on this: how much notice for sick days, what the 'rules' will be in terms of sick kids staying home, who will host, etc.
The sick policy is extremely important given COVID-19. We actually ended our nanny share because when we started sheltering in place because it got too complicated with exposure risk and developing sick policies. During that time, both of the families moved, one out of state, so we actually ended up hiring our nanny on our own, no share. We have given her unlimited paid sick leave during the course of the pandemic. We have also put strict sick protocols into place as well. We never would want her to feel like she has to choose between coming in sick and getting paid. And we don't want to get her sick either. Basically in her contract we have a sick policy in place for the COVID-19 Pandemic. And then once that's "over" (ha... not happening any time soon), we have a separate sick policy.
