But a lot of parents are doing it (WFH without childcare). This is an extraordinary situation. Yes it sucks but the more people who continue to leave the house to go to work the less SIP measures become effective.
I’m less concerned about a nanny going straight from home to work, then straight from work home. My concern are elderly people like my uncle (82 this year). He’s a widower, 6 years now. Doesn’t cook at all, burns scrambled eggs and won’t try to cook much else. He’s been going to restaurants for 2 meals everyday for years. Now, he’s in and out for takeout for 3 meals per day, then a trip to the post office, grocery store, hardware store, etc. He stays 6-10 feet aware from employees, but he’s starved for interaction with someone, anyone. And since he’s extremely technophobic, FaceTime isn’t an option for him. He won’t stay on the phone more than 5 minutes. Frankly, people that social distance correctly are fine.
