We don't have a curfew for the car or AP. I do ask the AP her general plans when she goes out. I don't know that she would tell me if I didn't ask. Car is not allowed in DC at all. We have a location app that is on her phone and mine, it shows me where she is. She is NOT required to have this on unless she has the car, or if she takes my kids somewhere. If she has my car, I have every right to know where it is. If she doesn't want me to know where she is, she can get a ride with a friend, Uber, whatever and turn off the app.
I like this and am going to institute this for our next AP.
Wouldn’t it be more effective to have a location tracker on the car? It also sounds like the location tracker gives you information about the quality of driving, which is very important in my opinion.
The app I use is LIFE360 and it gives driving information. I've never looked into a location tracker for the car alone, the app works well for us. Our AP actually likes us to have it on since she often goes out into DC with her friends. Of course it is completely her choice to have it on when on personal time and without the car, but it makes her feel better having it on in case there was an emergency. I'm sure other APs wouldn't want their HF to know where they were during there off time, but we have a great respectful relationship with our AP. She is an adult and is treated like one. She knows we aren't checking up on her and use it for safety reasons.
