So we have a summer sitter who is 17. She takes my kid to an activity once or twice a week ( she only comes 3x a week from 330-630) I give her an extra $5 on top of her rate on the days she drives my kid to this activity. I think its probably about one tank of gas in distance but im not going to give her $2/$3 when she is doing me a favor.
Do you mean she uses one gallon of gas to drive your child to and from?
I’m assuming in one week their nanny uses a rank of gas and this person thinks an extra $5 is remotely acceptable. But, many people take advantage of young people. I cannot even imaging hiring a teenager to drive my children, but it certainly does save money.
I am the PP. I didnt hire her to drive my kid. I hired her when she was 15 to watch my kid for about 2.5 hours 3x a week during the summer at our house. This summer she is 17 almost 18 and has been driving for over a year and I asked her Mom what she thought about her driving my kid occasionally. She drives 2 younger siblings to their activities on a regular basis and is very responsible. So she drives DD to her activity now sometimes.
