What bothers you about her being around on the weekend if she is happy and cheerful (and not actually sulking and looking miserable)? I assume she spends most of the time in her room? Your house is her home for the year, some people like to spend their weekend relaxing in the comfort of their home on weekends and if your kid are school-aged she might be out a lot during the weekdays and not feel the need to go out on weekends? You might want to offer her tickets to events she would like as an insensitive to get out of the house but you really can't be mad about her wanting to spend her weekends at home. She is as entitled to stay home on her time off as you are.
A completely wasted opportunity and terrible role model. I would not pay for one of my kids to go abroad and sit in their room watching television all year. Also, ours washed her hair and did laundry on the weekends. The laundry part got me annoyed... I work all week and AP doesn’t (school age kids). I had to tell her to do her laundry during the week and I need to do everyone else’s laundry on the weekends. She doesn’t even do the kids laundry because she ruined some of their clothes. I realized afterwards that she had been ignoring my laundry instructions and she seems to think laundry must be washed on the hottest and heaviest settings to be truly clean...
