Would the nanny be expected to pick up the dog sh*t? Extra pay for that!
How do some of you function in the real world? All jobs have unexpected tasks, and newsflash, most people hire nanny's for the flexibility. People do things because it builds goodwill, no for the pay bump as every turn. You would truly demand extra pay to take out the family dog once in a while (and yes, if you take a dog out and they poop in public, it's the law that you need to pick it up)? What about when the potty trained kid shits in their pants? Extra pay on that day too? OP, don't take a job with dogs. Period. You won't do a good job and you will either be miserable or fired. Save yourself and this family the headache.
We function just fine, because in the real world a nanny’s job description does not include cleaning up after your pet. IF the nanny decides that she would like to take the dog for a walk, then obviously the nanny picks up after the dog should they poop. If you FIL is there visiting and poops imhis pants, that is also not my responsibility, see how that works. Kids pooping, peeing, vomiting, etc.; no big deal! OP, just go to the interview and see how it goes. If it seems awkward with the dogs and you are clearly nervous, then it is best to explain why.
