Do they want you available when they return? If so, they better pay you or you should start looking for a new job and have a contract that says you are paid even if they don't need you.
Of course I’ll be available when they return. Why wouldn’t I be? And what does that have to do with anything?
Are you really this stupid?
Why are you so mean? Does it make you feel better to belittle others? Have you never needed assistance with any topic in your life? Try to be a uniter, not a divider. And certainly never teach your children or charges to behave in such a cruel way. OP, what the pp (probably the mean one) was saying is that guaranteed hours goes both ways, you guarantee availability and they guarantee pay. If they don’t want to guarantee pay then it is unfair for them to expect you to guarantee availability. You have guaranteed hours, which translates to guaranteed pay. They likely are not questioning whether I or not to pay you as it is already in your contract and I’m sure they understand what that means. You could ask them if they plan to pay you prior to their vacation or after, that will reinforce your expectation of being paid.
