I’m the PP who thought $400 a day was too high. I guess we’ll use the kids club at the resort we stay at and time our vacation to coincide with the nanny’s. To the person who was very upset with me for saying $400 is excessive, I don’t know why you are so mad. What’s out of budget is out of budget- it’s not personal
Most nannies charge $300-400/day when they share a room with their charges. If you intended to get a separate room for your nanny, use the same basic schedule as normal, pay extra for hours that would be different (so you could have a date night, presumably)? Then you would be paying guaranteed hours and have the nanny available to kids during normal hours for no additional cost (beyond room and food), and only be paying more for a few extra hours here and there. This is what most families choose to do. Some nannies will ask for an extra $50-150/day for the inconvenience of not being able to entertain at home, but it depends on your relationship with the nanny, how long she can research before going, etc. However, when I have to share my room with three girls, one ends up in my bed and proceeds to kick me all night? I charge per hour, no flat rate.
