Define "late", please. Our nanny is reliably 5-7 minutes late and it drives me nuts (yes, I've spoken to her about it several times, which helps for a few months, then she relapses a bit).
Late is late. If a person is supposed to start work at 8AM and arrives at 8:01 she is technically late. Now, no one is that much of a dick to worry about a minute but 5 minutes late is unacceptable.
Disagree. I’ve had several positions for which I had to hit the ground running. Start time was start time, not time to chitchat, use the bathroom, or make myself something to eat/drink. I was on time because I was doing all of that 5-15 minutes prior, that way I was ready to either wake the kids or do hand off.
What are you disagreeing with? PP never said anything you could possibly disagree with! She was saying exactly what you said - start time is start time. No excuse to be late.
See the bolded.
So you are that much of a dick or your employers are that much of a dick?
