Why on earth should a nanny share at that rate be ashamed? Nanny shares are often less work - yes, multiple kids, but no housework, no food prep, no pick-ups and drop-offs. Nanny share jobs are easier than a family nanny!!!  [/quote]

Are you a nanny? Bc nanny shares are extremely hard work...Double the feedings, diaper changes, throw up, crying, teething, etc. As a nanny who has done shares and individual care they are both hardwork but a nanny share was much harder. There honestly wasn’t time in my schedule to do housework other then cleaning up after my charges. My families realized that and made it a point to say no housework. There will always be ppl who believe $9-10 per family is a good amount to pay in a nanny share in order to justify their decision. [/quote]

As I stated previously, yes, I am a nanny and I have done both shares and family jobs. My share situations were much better than my private nanny situations in terms of income to work load. Maybe that's just me - but that's the problem with these boards, they make harsh generalizations and try to make both parents and nanny's feel bad about themselves and their rates. Regardless, don't try to make others feel bad about their situations, if you don't like a rate, don't accept it, but don't make those that do feel bad about their situations. [/quote]
