OP, your son can make friends with other children without you having to nanny, especially since you can afford these other memberships. When your charge gets sick with a respiratory illness, will you be able to work without exposing your asthmatic child? I just don’t understand why you choose to restrict yourself and your child without needing the income. Your MB will start to resent you if you put more financial stress on her.
I don't necessarily have to restrict myself because we live in the same neighborhood. I can host at my house if I want. We often spend mornings at my charges house and come back to my house for nap time. I cook dinner in the afternoons here. My husband even comes home for lunch some days. Her mom is totally comfortable with that btw. My charge also hugs my husband when she sees him. I'm still waiting to hear back about the add on rate. It's seems silly to quit over this and my son will be heartbroken. They're in love! It's the cutest thing ever. Making friends as a toddler is really hard and it's been challenging for me too. Story time, playground etc are fun but my son hasn't made any friends there. My mb also goes out a lot in on the weekends and I babysit. I don't think she's strapped for cash but I understand how $100 could be too expensive.
