To the sanctimommy poster: Theae HNW families are not typically traveling constantly just for fun. My NF has one parent who travels 2-3 times a month for 2-3 days each time. The othwr travels one week at a time about once a month. All of it is work-related and mandatory for their jobs. Their options are to leave the kids home with the nanny and their spouse (who also works long and unpredicatble hours), or to take the kids along and explore the world with their kids in the evenings.
Although we are not wealthy, high profile people... Our lovely nanny works four days a week and our child is with me and DH the rest of the days and of course all nights. I nursed for 1.5 years and pumped. I am a very hands-on mother and am very close to my child. On vacations, our child shares a room with nanny and DH and I get night-time couple time and a chance to sleep in while nanny takes our child to do something fun. And then we all have lunch together and DH and I take our child for the afternoon. I love my husband and honor our marriage - and that takes stress-free holidays and alone time. Thank God for our nanny. I know this is not a vacation for nanny and we pay her accordingly. She does is a huge service.
