Ive decided to let it go. I want to leave on good terms. They asked me several weeks ago to stay with rhem through a certain amount of time. I agreed. An opportunity came up recently that pays more money. I wasn't sure because of the timing. I've decided I'm going to take it, and just leave this family sooner. Thanks for the advice everyone.
And if the family had paid you and this wasn't an issue you might have decided differently on the new opportunity. Short sighted on the parent's part.
Or not. Why should she give up a higher paying job?
Because they need me. I don't want to be specific, but things are going on and they wanted to keep the same nanny for their children. Youngest nk starts school soon. It doesn't matter now. I'll contact the other position this week, and make sure I give current nanny family 2 weeks notice. It is in my contract.
