I agree that it is annoying and I always make sure the house was a nice clean place to work. If it wasn't - I'd apologize.  most of the time nanny would just help me out.  I'd thank her and then she'd get  a huge bonus.  life does get crazy sometimes.

I'm an MB and make sure that our house is clean before the nanny comes.  BUT sometimes things happen.  And let's remember, it's someone's HOME.  I'm not condoning the NF leave a mess, but come on people, doesn't everyone have a s*&! time and not get to cleaning the house every once in a while?  But I do agree that you shouldn't expect the nanny to clean your mess unless it's part of the job description.  [/quote]

I clean as I go to but with kids who need put to bed, get laundry, food, homework and everything else prepared for the next day, sometimes something has to give.  Yes, that is the family mess.  Yes, it is their home.  But, nanny spends a lot of time in the home and its not unreasonable to expect her to help occasionally or even clean the rooms she uses.[/quote]
