I interviewed last Friday with a family. The interview went well and I liked them. The mom complimented me on many things, and said they would be making a decision by this week. A couple hours after the interview, she texted me and asked me if I could run the background check she requested. I did, along with a "thank you" message. The driving part came in. I didn't get a badge ( Sittercity) because I didn't pass their qualifications of having a valid license ( it was expired). They did however, run the check, and it came back clean with no incidents. I reached out and explained that to her. I asked for her email to send the report. I also told I will renew license asap ( expired a week ago) and rerun it. I noticed she edited the pay range on her ad. She hasn't reached out to me. I sent a follow-up message and told her I would appreciate knowing if they aren't interested. Nothing. I am not interested due to the lack of professionalism and communication on their part. Even if they aren't interested, she should say so. I also offered to cover the cost of the background check ( criminal part still processing). My question is due to the lack of response and re-editing, is it safe to assume they're not interested. Should I follow-up once the criminal part is processed ( in a day or so), or just not reach out? I also wonder if I should write them that I'm no longer interested due to lack of communication on their part. What would you do?
Look at what I made bold from your OP. Do you see how often you contradict yourself? You say over and over that you aren't interested. Let it go. Don't write any more. Don't reach out. Let it go and move on. Also, according to your post. Interviewed She texts for background check You did check and sent thank you message, then reached out again asking for her email and to say you'd get license renewed. She edited her ad. She hasn't reached out to you. You sent ANOTHER message. She did not reply. And now you want to reach out again?! She's probably about to block your number. I would. Stop messaging her!
