Desperately want to hire a nanny from another country-it's the only real shot I have of giving my son exposure to our mother tongue. I don't speak it well enough to teach it to him. Without it, I fear he will grow up like I did-feeling left out of family events, embarrassed, and disenfranchised. DS is only one. If it is a multi-year process I am willing to do it. Anyone BTDT?
Your best bet is to find a Nepalese nanny who is already in the U.S. If you are an American citizen, you cannot bring a nanny from overseas, unless you belong to a very narrowly defined part of the diplomatic corps. I'm going to guess that's not you. Only diplomats and employees of international organizations are allowed to bring in nannies from overseas. Sorry.
