I MAKE $10 H IN MARYLAND WORK ONLY 40 H A WEEK . 19K A YEAR I AM A NANNY . WHAT SHOULD I DO? HOW DO YOU GUYS MAKE A LOT OF MANY BEING A NANNY?
We're experienced, can offer suggestions during an interview to show our experience, and we have references. Some have bachelors, masters, or special needs training and/or experience. Some have training and/or experience for tutoring or teaching, alternative parenting and discipline styles. Some can teach a second or third language. Some are willing to do housekeeping for extra money, or errands, or do a share. Some are willing to deal with micromanaging employers, WAH parents, SAH parents, grandparents constantly in and out. Some are willing to start early, stay late or work around the clock. Some are willing to approach their employers and negotiate for more tasks in exchange for more pay or better benefits. Any nanny who wants to earn a decent wage has to be willing and able to turn down the cheap jobs. She has to be willing and able to negotiate for the pay and benefits she wants, and walk away if the parents can't or won't meet it. No matter how much we love our charges, for a professional nanny, this is a career, and professionals know when to stay, when to negotiate and when to walk.
