So no, that's certainly not a competitive rate.[/quote] I've hired two nannies, in lower Montgomery County, over the past 5 years. Both were citizens, fully legal, and experienced. Both were hired essentially at these rates. Certainly I could have spent far more, but our first nanny was fantastic and stayed with us for 3 1/2 years. Our second nanny has been with us almost a year and I expect she'll be with us until our kids are in full-time school. She is also terrific, and happy with her position and compensation. Both times I had to search I had lots of qualified applicants, all of whom were - at minimum - legal to work in the US, and most of whom were citizens. So I have not needed to pay more to get the level of legal, experienced, loving, trustworthy, collaborative care we want for our kids.[/quote]
