We found out about the 1/2 day off after she told us, so we didn't extend the 4 hrs.  However, in the past when she took a few hours off her or there (rarely misses work) we haven't docked her for that.

We've also been very flexible with her about her leave.  My husband has way more leave than I do (used a lot up for maternity leaves) and so he's able to take off generally whenever (she gives us ample notice) our nanny takes her 2 week trip home.

OTOH we haven't traveled too much as a family recently--youngest is now 1.5 yrs old--so she hasn't had many days off like other nannies have due to the families taking extra vacations etc.  This year, we'll be traveling at least 3 times, so she'll probably get 2 weeks of extra paid leave.[/quote]
