Wow op I do feel for you. I only came here today to look at similar situations because my mbs mom is in town. She tends to hover and talk to the kids like I never do a thing with them. She says things like "larla we really should be working on sight words otherwise you'll be behind" knowning damned well I do her words with her every night lol. But what's worse is she thinks I'm an uber service. I can't escape her to save my life. Whenever she hears my keys jiggle she grabs her purse and hops in the car. Taking 3 yo to nursery school, she hops in. Picking him up, she hops in. Picking up 6 yo from school she hops in, taking her to gym, she hops in. Going to the library she hops in, park, she's coming too. It wouldn't be so bad if for one I felt more comfortable, the kids didn't test me more because she is around and try to treat me like a second class citizen, she didn't ask to "run by here" or " grab that for dinner" etc. I made a thread not too long ago about she and her husband and their last visit. She tried to get me to unload the dishwasher and she really tried it with the job creeping. My mb however completely has my back and tells me to ignore her and please come to her if I feel like I'm at a breaking point because she doesn't want me to hold things in and up and quit. The thread is called "do grandparents hate nannies" or something like that. I'm of a different race from my family also and wondered if she was low key being racist towards me when treating me like the help and her son asking me about fried chicken when he was visiting lmao. People are a trip. If your mb doesn't have your back I suggest calling the other families that reached out to you and look at other options just in case.
