Naps are not silly. Sleep is a basic biological need. Read the chapter in nurture shock on sleep. Sleep (or lack thereof) has a huge impact on physical, psychological and academic success.
So all children in academia should nap? Yes, sleep is critical but napping? Not so much.
False. http://io9.com/the-science-behind-power-naps-and-why-theyre-so-damne-1401366016 http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/236755 Naps are very beneficial to people of every age. Yes, we should have naps throughout school and into our adult lives.
Now you are simply boring me (I'm sure most people around you take many naps). Naps are simply not always possible.
I was a NP, so sorry my evidence of naps being beneficial bored you. Of course naps aren't always possible, but when they are they should be available for people as it improves health, concentration, and productivity. I posted earlier saying dropping the nap at that age depends entirely on the child in question and what their overall sleep looks like.
