Wow you only work 20 hours a week and you need all this help??? My mother and father both worked 50 hours a week and never had a nanny or sitter or backup. The current generation of parents is so lazy, it's no wonder all these overweight under-achieving kids are the result =/[/quote]

huh? so both parents worked out of the house 50 hours and had NO care? if someone works out of their home they need care - doesn't matter if it's not full time. jesus!

OP - ignore these posters!! They are just trolls or probably bitter nannies.  We have backup care thru work but it is BH Advantage and doesn't require the 24 hour notice. I would probably talk to your nanny about also giving you a little more notice. My nanny usually texts me the night before giving me the heads up so we can start working on a plan.  But I would also recommend your neighborhood list serve as well as see if there are other neighborhood moms who employ a nanny that you could potentially set up a backup share relationship in case's like this?[/quote]
