Of course I'll miss some developmental "firsts" - that's the price I pay for not spending every moment with my child. I think a nanny being sensitive to this, and being careful about what approach might be kindest to her employers, is being lovely and professional and thoughtful. Beyond that I just don't think it's that big a deal - all healthy kids walk and talk eventually, and the early stages of that are longer than any one moment in time. [/quote]
