I pay $5 an hour. It's not worth more than that sorry.
Federal minimum wage is currently 7.25 per hr. And in Maryland live in nannies are entitled to overtime of time and a 1/2 after 40 hrs.
If you are officially employing someone. People are free to choose to exchange work for any type of compensation, even non-monetary. If I want to pay my friends in pizza to help me move for 3 hours we can do that. If I want to pay the neighbor kid $5 to mow the grass and it takes him an hour, we can do that. If I want to pay a nanny $100 to watch my kid for 24 hours, we can do that. So if PP wants to pay $5 an hour and the nanny accepts it then they can do that. Now, of course, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to pay sub-minimum wage on the books, but I'm sure that's not the case.
????? So then, what does a minimum wage rate exist at all?!!! Wrong answer.
