Do you guys pay your nanny when you go on vacation? She is willing to come with us but only for extra pay.
If we take her she gets her usual pay per hour and same 8 hours of work/day but at our choosing (morning or evening or afternoon).
Same here. We took her to the Caribbean for a week with us to help cover a wedding. We were clear upfront when our obligations were and when we needed her and she agreed and had a fun time. She was paid her usual weekly amount and all room and board, travel. We also greatly enjoy our kids on vacations so it was far from her "working" 24/7 or whatever anyone else here is having a fit over. Maybe on an office/work trip with the kids and nanny it would be different.
No one is having a fit over anything. Nannies are simply saying that a vacation for you is a work trip for your nanny. Of course you have to cover all the expenses including compensating her for her time outside of her home. If you can't afford to do so, that's fine. Let her stay home and you make other childcare arrangements.
I would never take some with an attitude problem on vacation with me so I guess that solves that!
