I'm a nanny and 13 years ago I got a DUI I was under 21 out with some friends after work. A coworker ordered a run and coke, I ordered a cook with our meals. The waitress gave me the wrong one after two sips I realized it was the wrong beverage. On my way home I got pulled over for speeding I was going 35 in a 30 well the cop smelled the alcohol and gave me a breathalyzer I blew .002 but since I was under 20 and the law is zero tolerance and you can't have any alcohol in your system I got charged and convicted. That is the only time I've ever driven with alcohol in my system. Once I was 21 if I went out I never drove after drinking as I was scared to get into an accident or anything because it would have counted as my second offense. Now I don't drink because of a medical condition and the alcohol is not safe with my medications and I know a lot of people find it hard to believe but in 7 years I haven't had one alcoholic beverage. So if the person has made a change I don't think their past should be held against them. My bosses know about my DUI because I told them about it even though it doesn't show up anymore I like to be honest upfront. I also work for physicians who know that my medications don't mix with alcohol and they trust me 100% to drive their children and care for them
