How do you plan to force everyone in your office to have these vaccinations. I get a flu shot every year but have never had TDAP and do not intend to do so.
What office? We're talking about nannies. If it is an office, you tell people they are on unpaid leave until they provide proof of vaccination.
I work in a hospital. Terms of employment include documentation of several vaccines, titer years, yearly TB tests, and they follow when we need any Boosters. Failure to follow these protocols results in termination. Again, all of this is agreed to upon hire. The flu shot is optional unless you are on a floor with those who are immunocompromised. However, if you decline a flu shot on the other floors, you are required to wear a mask from October to May. Failure to do this results in disciplinary action. We have stickers on our badges so QC can tell easily. Now all that aside, unless nannies are working with newborns and small babies, or immunocompromised children, I think it's fine that some nannies choose not to get the flu vaccine. Everyone should get tetanus boosters regardless of what they do for a career. Now as to the person who thinks all vaccines are harmful....I'd attempt to educate yourself a little bit more. There are some vaccines I will never get (anti malarials come to mind) but to say all vaccines are bad is a little ignorant.
