This is exactly what is wrong with the nanny profession, and exactly the mentality that makes so many parents unwilling to spend more than $15 per hour.  It takes far more than loving kids and having a good personality to be a good nanny.  I am not familiar with this nanny school, but IMO, nannies should be trained in things like early language development, positive discipline, childhood emotional development and how to nurture emotional intelligence, preparing monthly plans for skills to be taught and activities through which to teach them, appropriate nutrition and safe food handling, developmental milestones at each stage and how to test for mastery so you know what skills to work on with your charges... This list of things goes on and on.

A love for kids and a good personality gets you $15 per hour.  Until nanny school or comparable training becomes the norm, nannies as a class will never be recognized as professionals.[/quote]
