I charge at least $22 for two infants. I can negotiate though. If you want me to cloth diaper, do housekeeping, and make homemade baby food then I will charge more. If the employer offers to pay employee portion of the taxes, covers health insurance, pays transportation, etc. I can go lower bc its all part of my salary in the big picture. I also worked in corporate HR for years so I have a better handle on how to negotiate compensation. Most nannies probably would not find it pleasant to have to barter with you.[/quote]

Very true.  I was a preschool teacher prior to becoming a nanny - I have a masters in ECD and years of experience and great references as a nanny - and I am incapable of bartering especially for a new position.  If I didn't like the offer, I would just walk away.

PS I never do housekeeping that is unrelated to childcare regardless of the salary bonus but would see making homemade baby food and using whatever diapers you decide on as part of my regular nanny job with no additional salary bump.  And I would probably ask 22 to 25 to start as well.  [/quote]
