Easter is a celebration of spring and rebirth. 
If you're hunting eggs, eating chocolate and sitting with a strange bunny its not a jesus holiday.

The eggs, chocolate, and bunny all represent Easter and Easter is a holiday surrounding jesus. The spring and rebirth stuff was hauled out to smooth out the religious aspect of it. That way people can claim it's not religious.

You have that backwards. It's not religious. It's a spring festival of awakening, birth, life and starting over. Of course christianity couldn't have let that stand so they took over the pagan traditions with their own. (Hello Sunday is the day most go to church .. why because pagans worshipped the sun, so it was an easy transition when christianity was being forced onto them). [/quote]
