Wrong. Nannies don't get paid "big bucks". Nurses, doctors, etc. get paid big bucks. Enough to warrant the occupational hazards. They also receive proper benefits including sick time and health insurance. Until those become givens for nannies, and we are actually paid "big bucks", you get coverage for common colds and stuffy noses. Anything more than that and parents need to stay home and be parents. Its not about me. Its about what you can reasonably expect for what you're paying. If you don't offer sick days, health insurance, and enough money for your nanny to afford to take care of herself, should she fall ill, you have no right to expect her to risk her health. The lack of health insurance alone eliminates most nanny jobs from the realm of being reasonable to expect sick care beyond the sniffles or a cold. Also, BTW, I graduated from college with honors. I don't make the "big bucks" by choice. I have no desire to be a slave to a "career". [/quote]
