I get no notice except a text of we need you in 15 min. And they are late all the time sometimes 3 hrs late. As a nanny I can't make plans. Going out to dinner with friends is impossible when I get the text or call that I am needed in 15 minutes. And no I am not an on call nanny I have set hrs but they change daily with this family. I don't say anything other then I'm driving to meet a friend let me call them to cancel hoping they will get the hint that I had plans. They don't care in their eyes I am at their peck and call. I have never said no to them.
The parts in bold are things you need to fix if you want your situation to change. They clearly aren't "getting the hint" and you're being passive. If you don't say no, then they won't stop. If you don't question it, why should they change? Do they even pay you for the extra time? The underlined part is something small. The phrase is "at their beck and call," not peck.
Yes they pay me, oops typo I new it was beck not sure how that happened.
