18:37 here. I would send an email. "Hi xxxxx, I'm sorry your family isn't feeling well. I hope you all were able to rest this weekend and are back to normal soon. I'm wondering when would be a good time to pick up the check from when I watched xxxx November xx through xx. By my calculations it was x hours at $x. I'd be happy to stop by this week. Thanks and feel better"
I've tried this with no response.
Okay. So your next email needs to say, "Hi Larla. I am following up on the email I sent you on 11/20 (and OP, attach that email by forwarding it to her) for the $500 you owe me for working 40 hours the week of November 11-16, 2013. While I understand that you and your family have been sick, I am sure you understand that just like you/your DH need to get paid when you work, I need to get paid when I work. Please let me know what time between the hours of 8am to 8pm I can come by to pick up the money you owe me by 11/26, otherwise you will be forcing me to pursue all legal remedies available to me, including and not limited to, Small Claims Court. Please understand that if you require me to go to such lengths that in addition to requesting the Court award me the $500 I earned from working for you, I will also request they require you to reimburse me for all legal fees associated with the suit, as well as any lost wages I incur from having to attend Court rather than work. As you can hopefully see, it would be financially beneficial for us both if you let me know when before 8pm on 11/26 I can come by to pick up my money owed. Thank you." OP, I pulled 11/26 out of my ass - my point is to give them two calendar days. I also pulled 8am to 8pm from there as well. My point is to give them a wide chunk of time so they don't have to come home during the workday. If they tell you they just don' want you to get sick, tell them they can leave cash in an envelope in their mailbox and you'll come by to pick it up without ringing the bell. If they say they aren't well enough to go to the ATM, well, that's why you're giving them 2 or 3 days. You get that money before Thanksgiving though, OP.
