I'm from the mid west and its hard to get a live in nanny job here when your from out of state. If I quit I would be unemployed and have no income and no place to live. Yes doing getting texts at 3 am sucks but at least I have a job.
You're choosing to stay there so you don't get to complain. You act like you're a slave who is forced to stay.
Some people don't have the financial cushion to "choose" to be unemployed for any period of time. Very happy for you, PP, that you've never found yourself in the position of having to continue working an unreasonable job to support yourself and/or your family. It doesn't work that way for everyone, sadly.
Sounds you're full of excuses and want to continue playing the victim. Nobody says make the choice to become unemployed, they look for work elsewhere.
Sorry, I should have specified - I'm a NP, not the OP or the PP you've been dialoguing with. What would you say to someone who earns $15/hr at their live-in nanny position where they are taken advantage of in the way PPs describe, but who can't find other jobs to replace it aside from the $7.50/hr jobs in fast food? Probably you'd say stick with it until you do find something better, no? Rather than go onto welfare/SNAP or take a 50% pay cut, that seems most sensible? In which case, how do you know none of the PPs are actively looking for new jobs and tolerating their current situations while they have to? I actually think you're a troll because all the reasonable people who post here know that circumstances vary from person to person and wouldn't dream of telling an indigent worker that they're "full of excuses" when they complain about some element of injustice at their job.
