Most MBs/DBs skirt the law at some time over the course of employment, and smart nannies keep records of EVERYTHING. My employers could have tried to sue me for quitting, but I gave the notice required in the contract, helped find a replacement, and could easily have met the burden of proof for "quitting for cause". Ie. changes to my duties, failure to pay on time, persistent tardiness, etc. [/quote]

That's a nasty generalization. "Most" MBs/DBs do not skirt the law. If that's been your experience then maybe you need to take a closer look at your resume and see why those are the jobs you are getting. [/quote]

We've discussed the payroll companies we use as well as details that only someone who actually paid on the books would know.  Either that or they did A LOT of research so they could lie really well on the off chance it happens to come up and they are trying to prove they really do pay on the books.  I don't know who your friends are but mine are honest people who wouldn't go to such extreme lengths to lie.  You can call me naive if you want to, I don't really care since you don't know me.  I'm not stupid and I know when people lie to me but I think it's more pleasant to go through life without as much cynicism as you obviously have.[/quote]
