"No one pays more than $10 an hour" for a nanny in Potomac, MD? What an unfortunate blatant lie. I personally know many parents who pay well over $20 an hour in Potomac.

Potomac  the most wealthy MD suburb of Washington where families have high expectations for their children's education and early care. Parents are usually themselves educated enough to understand the vital importance of a strong foundation to prepare for later academic success.

It's true. Just like McLean, VA, Potomac also has some rich foreigners who keep workers in slave-like conditions. One such report was resently in the news about this in McLean. +1. there have been several cases (at least one involving people working for the Saudi embassy) where the "MB" was arrested or accused of bringing slaves to the US (in the case of the Saudi diplomat there was no arrest obviously, but the domestic workers were rescued). so yes, there are people who pay $8 an hour for full time work, and people who pay even less or nothing for 50 or 60 hours a week. that's a crime. it does not mean that $10 an hour for a FT nanny in the DC area is the market rate.[/quote]
