There is nothing unfair about an unemployed person filing for unemployment.[/quote] If you have not been getting paid on the books, then no money has been going into unemployment. You also have to report why the job ended and the employer will get a call to see if the person was fired for cause. In short there will be trouble all around.[/quote]
